BRICUP invites you to sign the attached petition, initiated by the University and College Workers for Palestine, to oppose the Government’s intended designation of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation. Palestine Action’s most controversial initiative to date has been to daub paint on a few (leased) RAF planes in protest against its involvement in genocide. As the petition explains more fully, if the Government is allowed to designate Palestine Action a terrorist organisation for such minor infractions of the law, then inevitably the net will be cast wider, endangering all those who seek justice in Gaza and the wider Middle East. In view of the Government’s implication in the ongoing genocide, its threatened action is perhaps not surprising. It is nonetheless an horrific threat to freedom of speech. Please, therefore, download and sign the petition, and do so soon as the threat is imminent.
